Lobethal CORK

Ever wondered where cork comes from? We had the privilege of pruning the Cork Oak (Quercus suber) in Lobethal last week. If you're into your trees it is well worth the drive out there to have a look as it is one of the best specimens of its species in Australia. Mainly in the Mediterranean these trees are grown and every 10 or so years the cork is harvested of the tree, without harming the tree at all.
